A Letter from the Author

Dear Friend,

First, let me say how honored I am that you've chosen to begin this journey.

My prayer is that these next 21 days will be more than another devotional you read. I pray they become a turning point—a time when the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to His truth, transform your perspective, and draws you into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

For many years, I loved God the best way I knew how, yet I lived with a religious mindset that often focused more on doing than on becoming. I believed in Jesus, but I struggled to fully understand who I was in Him. Like many believers, I carried insecurities, fears, and thought patterns that I simply accepted as part of who I was.

Everything began to change after I was truly born again and later baptized in the Holy Spirit. As I grew in my relationship with Jesus, He began revealing areas of my heart that had been shaped by lies instead of truth. He exposed wounds I didn't realize I was still carrying, mindsets that had kept me in bondage, and beliefs that were never from Him.

One of the greatest surprises in my own journey was discovering that, as a Christian, I still needed freedom in areas of my life. I had never been taught that believers could struggle with spiritual oppression or that the enemy could gain influence when we come into agreement with lies, unforgiveness, fear, shame, or other strongholds within our soul—our mind, will, and emotions.

When the Lord brought freedom into my own life, everything changed. I experienced firsthand that Jesus truly is the Deliverer.

Since then, I have watched countless people encounter that same freedom. I've seen men and women who loved Jesus finally begin walking in the confidence, peace, and joy that had always been available to them but had been buried beneath years of believing the wrong things about themselves and about God.

Through those experiences, I have become deeply convinced of one truth: The enemy is a liar!

Jesus said in John 8:44 that Satan is the father of lies. From the very beginning, his strategy has been deception. If he can convince us to believe lies, those lies begin shaping the way we think, the choices we make, and the way we see ourselves.

Many of us don't recognize that we've come into agreement with those lies. We simply assume they are our personality, our past, or "just the way I am." But they are not. God's Word tells us,

"Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2

Transformation begins when we stop agreeing with the lies and begin agreeing with God. As our minds are renewed by His Word, we begin to recognize the voice of our Shepherd above every other voice. We learn to discern truth from deception, and the lies that once controlled our thinking begin to lose their power.

As believers, we are not powerless victims trying to survive the enemy's attacks. We are sons and daughters of the Most High King!

Through Jesus Christ, we have been adopted into God's family, given a new identity, and entrusted with His authority. Jesus declared:

"Behold, I have given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:19

This authority is not rooted in who we are apart from Christ. It is rooted in who He is and in what He accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection. We do not have to fear the enemy, because Jesus has already won the victory. Our role is not to become consumed with darkness but to remain firmly rooted in the Light. As we stay close to Jesus, submit ourselves to God, resist the devil, and stand on His Word, we learn to walk in the freedom and authority He has already given us.

Freedom isn't found by focusing on the enemy, it is found by fixing our eyes on Jesus. He is our Savior, our Deliverer, our Healer, our Good Shepherd and the One who restores what has been broken, renews our minds, and leads us into abundant life.

This devotional was written with one simple desire: to help you recognize the lies that have influenced your thinking and replace them with the unchanging truth of God's Word.

Whether you've struggled with insecurity for years or have only recently begun recognizing its effects, I believe the Holy Spirit wants to meet you here. He delights in revealing truth, healing wounded hearts, and reminding His children who they truly are.

My encouragement to you is this: don't rush through these pages. Instead, invite the Holy Spirit into every moment. Read the Scriptures slowly, pray honestly and journal what He reveals. Allow Him to search your heart, even when it's uncomfortable, knowing that He only reveals what He desires to heal. As you walk through these twenty-one days, my prayer is that you will come to know—not just in your mind, but in the deepest places of your heart—that you are chosen, loved, forgiven, accepted, adopted, and secure in Christ.

May you leave this journey with your eyes fixed on Jesus, your mind renewed by His truth, and your heart fully surrendered to His purpose for your life.

The freedom Jesus purchased for you is real! Walk in that freedom! Walk in your identity. Walk in your authority. Walk as the son or daughter of the King that He created you to be.
